Enjoy your new car. I like the LT1 f-bodies better looks wise. My 96 sat for about 4 years outside when I bought it and the opti is fine. The motor ran great after running it for 1k miles and a few oil changes. I have an Ls1 car as well and it is faster and gets better mileage but I still like my LT1 car just as much. Maybe I'm just sentimental. Anyway, congrats on the new car.

Buy it. These are fun cars. If the opti goes out it will be in the next 20-30,000 miles, only due to worn rotor and cap. If it is mint and at a good price you will really enjoy the LT1.

original opti 145k miles. Put up with this for who knows how long before I got it. Notice all the stop leak.
Being the Bad *** I am, cracked the waterpump off without draining it for a reman, then drove 1300 miles round trip to the LTX shootout, made 15 passes, all while driving in what was left of the "hurricane" and getting 25mpg while doing it. I wouldnt buy an lt1 because the opti sucks

It is pretty close to mint. If you look close, you can see a scratch in the rt side of the sail panel, but other then that, it's about perfect. Interior is mint, under the hood is great. Never driven in winter.

Very nice find. Looks very nice. You'll never regret buying a clean car. Sure, there can be examples of LS1 f-bodys for cheap that you'll see here and there, but they're almost always completely ragged out.
An LS1 fbody that clean with that mileage would be around $10-12k in the majority of markets, so give yourself a pat on the back!![Grin](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)
If you start modding, do it tastfully and correct so you don't ruin this cherry car!
