Default My front right turn signal won't function right, Opti??

But seriously, i've been chasing this problem for 4 years now and I cannot figure out what's going on.

The problem USED to be, when I would use the right turn signal, it would turn on and work until I hit a bump and it would just freeze and not flash. It only happened once in awhile and it would come back on and work for a few months.

Now I have the same problem but it's gotten to the point where it just plain won't flash, and only the right signal. The left has never given me problems. Randomly sometimes, the green indicator will go out and and the light works for a short time until I hit the turn signal and then it illuminates again and doesn't flash and the green indicator stays on.

Now i've replaced the bulb, loaded it up with dielectric grease, moved the bulb around in the socket with little to no change, did the same with the turn signal lever, and I still can't figure out what causes it.

Can the flasher cause only one side to not flash? Can the turn signal cam go bad? Is the bulb socket bad? This is probably a shot in the dark but, it's driving me nuts let alone being dangerous so i'd like to fix it.

Have you tried changing both the front AND rear bulbs?

My DD Buick did the samething, ended up being the socket. Try wiggling the wires in the socket. Dielectric grease is also an insulator not a conductor. Heat sink compound is a conductor

My car used to do the same thing. Ended up being a bad ground in the socket itself. The light stays on because current flows from the turn signal positive through the path of least resistance. Since the ground is bad, the marker light element in the bulb becomes the next lowest resistance. Both elements will glow dimly. Replace your socket and your problem should go away.

Thanks for the tips guys, it was definitely the ground on the socket. It's loose and loses connection. Glad I finally got it figured out!

I was thinking the opti conductor relay. The oblong gold thing. Since the OP already figured out what the problem was and all we can give him more things to look into!111
