need help with initial tune
need help with initial tune I'm about to start up my 94 LT1 that I swapped into my 86. It has a little higher compression with AI heads and cam. I'm a little nervous about the initial start up and don't want it to run too lean. does anybody have some general guidelines that may help? I'm using tuner cats. Thanks in advance.
What program are you staring with? What CR? What are the cam specs?
Those will dicate initial changes to the timing tables.
For mixture, as long as the program wasn't previously hacked and all sensors are funtioning, then a MAF car will be OK to run at low power levels on the present tune to drive it around and get to a dyno for a real tune.

it'll try to idle at 600ish for a second then it dies. This is an LT1 swap into a 3rd gen. It threw DTC 22 for a low voltage TPS. I traced it to a short cut that the maker of the harness performed. I unscrewed the mess up and am going to try it again. I hope I don't have to completely remake my wire harness. We'll see how it goes in a couple hours.
