Attention to detail. I'm an engineer; my whole career has been about making the most out of the resources I have to work with. It's not just about throwing money at it.

You're right, most H/C F-bodies never make it past being an 11-sec car. My car is not just about the motor. 4.88 gears with 30" slicks, 4200 TC, rear suspension modifications, and judicious weight reduction (I still have A/C and all power/luxuries the car came with).

No, stock shortblock does not mean solid roller, at least not to me. Stock GM lifters. Stock PCM revving to 7000. Most people overcam their cars going for the almighty dyno bragging rights; very few have the rest of the car set up to use it. Phil at AI spec'd mine to ET in MY car, only targeting the rpm range, not peak power. It's 228 intake duration @ .050.
I had the car down to 3770 for the NA 10.98, front passenger seat pulled out. It was at 3840 for the 10.56 N2O run. 93 pump gas for NA, race gas for the spray.

A lot of it is about the converter. If you put that much torque converter in a properly tuned h/c f-body and it will go well into the 10s no problem.
