no worries keep the questions coming i only benefit from them!

There is sooooo much to gain in suspension its crazy and to think i haven't even touched mine yet!

i might be buying a chrommoly steering column with a quick disconnect should save 20 lbs

I am not sure about the street manners. I should qualify that all my comments are for the drag strip. Others can answer your question much better than I because I don't have any experience modifying these cars for street and/or street-strip.

Now, if you wanna talk Cummins diesels mods for towing/street performance than I can help you. But that is WAAAAYYYY off topic.

I guess that am only looking at the '99 and up springs. I can have a custom one made to the exact rate I need, but this is working so well I just haven't gotten the energy up to have it done.

How could I find a listing of old part #'s and spring rates for different cars?
I have a 97 WS6 convertible parts/junk car. Wonder if those springs are very differently rated?

I hear you. GM actually replaced all the part numbers in the book back then, so they only list one number for all applications now.

The stiffer springs are normally shorter and the coils have a larger diameter.

Yeah I work in GM parts and just looked up rear springs for a 95 and although it lists several different codes for the springs...they are all one number. The bad thing is finding a printed catalog would be tough. I have some GM parts catalogs for 75 to early 60's models, but that's it.

It's nice to see some good information being passed around in here! It's better than the "How to install an LS1 lid" threads for sure.

Once I get the new top end on my car I will be looking at redoing my suspension. Basically all I have that is worth a crap at the moment are my Stragne SA's and Spohn TQ arm. My cheap 50/50's have been doing alright in the back, but I really need to get a quality shock and a nice anti roll bar.

Im very curious as to how my car is going to leave on saturday since it will be my first time hitting the track with my new rear setup and launching at 6000 rpm. I did it twice at 3000 2 months ago and cut 1.74. My car leans to the passenger side in the rear for some reason, always has. I feel like im going to be leaving ALOT on the table after reading this thread with my stock sway bar bilsteins and no airbag.

Since your car already leans to the passenger side and that's the side that needs more help.....jump under there and swap springs side to side. Maybe that will at least level it out some sitting still and help make most of what you currently have. All it will cost you is an hours work.

Depends on track prep as well. Usually Cecil is good with the compound. At the very least you can try an airbag.

It wont matter much you'll be seeing my taillights by the 60ft mark neways! Hah!
