There used to be a bunch of different part numbers in the books. They had springs for six cylinders, convertibles, 1LE, LT1, etc. In about 1999 they went to one part number. I tried a bunch of different spring combinations. Gump has a 1995 Formula spring on the passenger side and a early six cylinder spring on the driver side. That way it still sits level. On my later builds I used aftermarket springs in different rates. It seems to work pretty good.

Jeff,
Feel free to message me. I will help all I can.
Tony,
I am not sure about the street manners. I should qualify that all my comments are for the drag strip. Others can answer your question much better than I because I don't have any experience modifying these cars for street and/or street-strip.
Now, if you wanna talk Cummins diesels mods for towing/street performance than I can help you. But that is WAAAAYYYY off topic.

I have a 97 WS6 convertible parts/junk car. Wonder if those springs are very differently rated?

Yeah I work in GM parts and just looked up rear springs for a 95 and although it lists several different codes for the springs...they are all one number. The bad thing is finding a printed catalog would be tough. I have some GM parts catalogs for 75 to early 60's models, but that's it.

It's nice to see some good information being passed around in here! It's better than the "How to install an LS1 lid" threads for sure.
Once I get the new top end on my car I will be looking at redoing my suspension. Basically all I have that is worth a crap at the moment are my Stragne SA's and Spohn TQ arm. My cheap 50/50's have been doing alright in the back, but I really need to get a quality shock and a nice anti roll bar.
Not leaving very level at the moment:

Im very curious as to how my car is going to leave on saturday since it will be my first time hitting the track with my new rear setup and launching at 6000 rpm. I did it twice at 3000 2 months ago and cut 1.74. My car leans to the passenger side in the rear for some reason, always has. I feel like im going to be leaving ALOT on the table after reading this thread with my stock sway bar bilsteins and no airbag.

I about cracked a rib on the child's football idea! Hahaha! Dang that is innovative and funny.
You guys have a great website and participants. You are lucky to have guys like Gizmo/Gump to bridge the gap between street cars and pure drag cars.
