Default New 24x Conversion.

So I went ahead and decided to buy a new harness instead of getting my old one reworked to cut down on "down time," so I went with Bill from BP automotive.

I just received it yesterday and was amazed on how well it came out. Very clean and a work of art. You can tell the amount of craftsmanship went into this.

All the connectors are even labeled, its going to make the install a lot easier

He got me a pretty awesome deal on the z06 MAF sensors and went ahead and did the wiring/connection upgrade to accept the new MAF

Say good bye to bad mr. opti

I've been thinking about this upgrade more and more. Just not sure if I want to pull the plug, for the install and what other parts Id have to come up with. Id love to get away from the "weak link" of the LTx engine.

Looks like top notch work!

Just like anything else, you need coils and an LS1 pcm. Of course the 24x parts from EFI

It's much easier to make a new harness look that good. It takes a TON of work to make a re-wired harness look like that.

i could never get my harness to look like that! And I'm still not done yet, having issues with the c connectors on the wheel well.

Pull the plug. Dollar for dollar, the best mod I've done in a long time even though it didn't add power to the combo. Far superior ignition system.

Dont forget the tuning, much easier to find a tuner and you can get real time tuning and other custom operating systems. The lsx pcm rivals many of the aftermarket fuel injection systems.

I may have missed it, but do I need a different timing cover also? Along with the coils/pcm and EFI parts...

Depending on your timing set you will need either a factory 96-97 cover or a billet cover from efi.

Nice. What's the current build time on a harness from BP Automotive?

4-6 weeks. I know it seems like a broad lead time, its just really hard to give a precise lead time. Thanks for your interest!

After seeing this thread I contacted bill about an ls1 swap harness for my ltx car...let's just say I couldn't find anyone that would build me a new plug play harness until now.
Good luck with your 24x conversion. Looks like you have a great start!

I agree with Bill's comments about "tuning". The LS1 PCM is far superior to the LTx PCMs. Plus, good luck finding a local dyno tuner that still has LT1-Edit. For me, it'll support my mods now and my high horse power mods in the future. Worth every penny!

Have some LS2 coils FS if interested in completing your build.
