Ordered the clutch today, hopefully the parts from MWC show up soon so I can get back to work putting everything back together.

But anyway here's a pic of the clutch, when it comes I'll post some real ones

After 3-4 hours of work I have the headlight harness cut apart and ready to go back in the car after I wrap it in nylon braided loom and heat shrink all the ends. I think I cut more out than what is going back in. I'm going to go and buy a scale today if the roads are decent (snow/sleet/rain mix today) and weigh how much I have cut out so far. Still have the engine wiring harness to pull and I'm going to unpin the PCM of the wires that are no longer being used.

I only made one mistake yesterday and unpinned the wiper motor wires so I need to put them back where they belong and I should be ok.

Here's a couple pics though...

Before (after I pulled some of the loom off)

After

And what was cut out This completely stuffed a wal-mart bag

I left the AIR pump pigtail on the fuse box so I can power my EWP with it instead of having extra wires in there. But I removed all of the ABS wiring & the box, fog light wiring all the way back to the fuse block, a couple big grounds for the ABS, couple big power wires for the ABS. Also removed the washer pump wiring, all Air Bag wiring, cruise control wiring, and anything else that wasn't there anymore. I sure hope this thing fires back up LOL

Thanks man, it came in right at 7#s. I would have thought it was heavier, but the scale doesn't lie.

Made a little bit more progress. Tonight I pulled the hood off and weighed it with the hinges & shocks and it came in right at 55#s. Before I started the weight reduction I couldn't fit more than 1 finger between the tire and the fender and now it's nearly 3 lol. I still have to put some weight back in, but I'm pretty happy so far.

Clutch came today This thing is badass haha I never thought I would be so excited
over a clutch. It came with the bolts for the flexplate too. Now I need to order the Quarter
Master Trilite release bearing and 730015 adapter to mount it to the T56. Then I need to
pull the trans and ship it to TDP and have it refreshed and order an SS spoiler and this years
mods are done well minus some plasti-dip

Anyway here's some pics

Also my bumper supports from MWC will be here on Monday. And hopefully I will have
a digital scale by then so I can get some accurate weights for what I have removed so
far and how much my new parts actually weigh

More pics coming soon.....

Looks good. Don't get bit to hard by the weight reduction bug. It's a disease once you have it. Trust me I know. My car is well beyond gutted now.

If u removed the front bumper support you can go ahead and cut off the front brackets to it . I also trimmed a little metal where the bottom air dam is at

LOL well I think I started with the hardest part and thinned out my wiring
harnesses, but now I'm running out of wires to remove so now its onto the
cutting. Tonight after work the front fenders will come off and I'm going to drill
some holes for the wires to come through and cut off some fender material.
Then I'll start moving back

I think its too late, but I'm ok with it

I'm waiting for my bumper supports to come before I cut off any metal from the
frame rails. And I was looking at the rad support area the other night and trying
to get some ideas since I need to keep the air dam in place. It will at least get
a bunch of holes drilled into it, but I think I can cut a lot off and still be able to
bolt the air dam back in place.

I test fit the MWC front bumper support and started to test fit the LS lid. I think I may
build a new base for the lid and cut out the upper radiator support to make it proportional
since the LS lid is wider on one side and it looks weird to me. Then I will be able to mount
the lid quite a bit lower than it is right now. And then I can sell the base and possibly be
able to build a setup that will be lighter than what the base is now.

I weighed the over the rad CAI setup I had and it was almost 7# with the MAF and filter.
I weighed the lid and base setup I have with no filter and it was just under 5#. So the
air intake setups are close in weight, but I think the lid looks a lot better.

Anyway I have been messing with the Racecraft dzus rails and I'm going to try to get
something done with them this weekend.

Here's a pic, and the front MWC bumper support is about 3# IIRC. I'll get an
accurate weight when my scale comes tomorrow

Well thanks to the wonderful weather we have had the past couple days in southern
Wisconsin I have 2" of standing water in my garage. Everything outside is ice dammed up
and all of the rain and melting snow ended up in my shop. I got it about 85* last night and
vacuumed up about 15 gallons of water, but that didn't even put a dent in it. This is the
last year for my garage, this spring its getting tore down and I'm going to build a new one
thats bigger and higher so I don't have to worry about getting water in it.

So I guess there won't be hardly any progress until I can figure out how to get the damn
water out, but I did manage to buy some materials so I can cut out the upper radiator
support and put some light weight tubing in its place. I'm also thinking about building a
tubular lower mount to hold the radiator in and have a place to mount the air dam, but be
a lot lighter than all of the stamped steel layers the the factory uses.

When you installed the quartermaster 730015 tri lite adapeter to your transmission, did you have to machine away a portion of the webbing in order to mount the plate flat against the transmission. It looks like I will have to do a little modifying to make it fit.
Thanks

Most of the installs I have seen they cut the adapter rather than cutting off the webbing of the trans. That was my plan as well

What does this front bumper support setup save you on weight compared to factory? Just curious so I can make a decision to do something like this or not.

How much weight do you lose using this?

I received the Quarter Master 730015 adapter for a trilite slave setup, the Quarter Master release bearing should eliminate the common hydraulic issues in these cars.

I still have a short list of mods to get done before spring.

Send trans out for a refresh
Quarter Master Trilite release bearing
clutch stop (either build or buy)
Tunercats software (already have cable)
MSD 6AL-2 (2 step)
LS1 SS spoiler

May also get a few more odds and ends depending on the financial situation

On an LS1 car they save about 20# but on the LT1 I think its closer to 30#. I will weigh my bumper support with fog lights this weekend and weigh the support. I weighed the MWC support and its under 4# but my old scale is kind of bunk, I got a new one last week that's a lot more accurate

Saves a little but not a huge amount. Wont shed much if any off your ET at the track maybe .2 of a 1/10 of a second but I guess if looking to save every little bit you can here and there it will help to add up.
