Jake, that's your Spinton? If so, you have a very impressive operation! I'm surprised there haven't been nine second SBCs in that deal before. Mine was five years ago. Close to your MPH, but spun the tires terribly. That one pic is Tulsa. I heard you guys were here. Saw on TV it started and ended here this year. What times did you run here?

I'd have to check my datalog for the D/A.......temp was 93 degrees, and I ran a 9.84 at 135 at the Test and Tune. It chattered the tires a bunch on Day 1 went 9.94.

Problem with 9sec SBC's on DW, is that there just aren't alot of them around. I see you are from Tulsa so you can relate. Everyone on the net posts their glory passes. Very few can actually do it in the heat. Drag Week this year took us to 4 different tracks........Temps on each day were Tulsa Day 1=93, Dallas Day 2=91, Shreveport Day 3=89, Memphis Day 4=88 (110grains of water), and Day 5=75 (110grains of water). My point being, these are passes made in bad weather......not to mention with 10+ hour drives each day.

Most 9sec N/A Small Block cars do so either at Disney Land near one of the coasts, or in the fall when the air gets dry and cold. Me.....unfortunately I never got to run mine in the "good" fall air for one reason or another.

Ill get off my soapbox now......

Spintron is owned by 3V Performance in Denver NC.

PS. Ed....I love data, pictures and videos. If you are interested in any of it, let me know. I like to share. I am proud of the "Old Gurl".......

I plan to go 383 in the future, but at the moment the 350 will have to suffice . I intend to rebuild with arp bolts and see what happens. -Anyone done this successfully?

When I first started running Stock Eliminator I built several LT1s with stock pistons and rods with ARP bolts. All of them went through the traps at over 7000 rpm. I never had any problems.

(I was running unported stock heads with 256/266 @ .050 and stock lift)

hahaha....good one! Race car with stock ports...hmm....ya think he was running the stock PCM?
Ya really shouldn't be misleading these guys that are not building dedicated rules-limited race cars, just for the sake of arguing.

I am not sure where you are going with this. I answered the OP's question based on my experiences. I have raced a bunch of LT1's with good results running un-modified ports and big duration cams. I have zero experience with stock LT1 PCM's (except removing them).

It wasn't directed at you. I know you're not advocating anything like that for the OP.

GIZMO's setup as he stated runs "stock lift" so the duration is used as a crutch for that, believe the valves get lofted too so they can get some actual lift from the valve despite the stock lift rules.

The Stock Eliminators cars have a LOT of very restrictive rules and have to find workarounds for those rules. The things they do are not because they think those things are the best idea, but rather things they can fit into the rules.
