Default 93 Z28 Camaro "Need some pointers"

Alright , i just recently purchased a 93 camaro Z28! Ive always wanted to build one of these cars, but the only problem is now that i finally have one is, I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to the LT1 motor, and im willing to learn and take any advice given. My plan is to re-do the interior, and little body work and new paint.. but my main problem is how to build the motor. I want it to be FAST, but wanna keep it street legal. So if i could get some help/advice on what mods to do to it that would be great! I'm open to all advice, comments , and so on! Thank you in advance!

What kind of budget are you working with, and what is your definition of FAST?

450-500whp will cost you at minimum 10k-15k.

Start with the basics. Cold air intake, headers, full exhaust, gears, etc.

Try a search for "beginning mods" or something like that.

If you are up for a motor swap you can get a 5.3 out of a truck and turbo it for about 3000$ an make 600 rwhp I saw the build in hot rod magazine. It is a stock 5.3 with a eBay turbo to get you started you can later upgrade to a better turbo for around 800-900$

That don't sound like a bad idea.. But if imma do it right. I would like to do it right the first time by the best parts now instead of buying the things to just get me by for now, and then replace it with better parts down the road. Ya know ?

You have a lot to learn.

The term "383 stroker" means nothing by itself.

An LT1 with a longer stroke crank (3.75" or 3.85") would then be called a "stroker motor." Stock stroke is 3.48".

I suggest you do a bit more research...or at least ask more questions instead of looking like a total noob.

Find a supercharger kit for stock LT1 and call it a day. Maybe do some mid tubes with S/L high flow cats. It wont get mid 4's to 5's but it will be quick enough for the street over stock with out being to much of a hand full. Then down the road if it's not enough then you spend 10K on a forged setup with heads and cam and ditch the Street Legal thing (if You Can).

To my knowledge there has never been an LT1 in the 4 second range. Is the car and automatic or 6 speed? If its auto then a stall converter will net you alot of gain. Do you have emission testing? Long tube headers also really wake these cars up. Cold air intakes are cheap and easy and there are some gains to be had. 1993 cars are 1 year only speed density cars that have no MAF sensor and you have to swap out the chip in order to tune it. With basic bolt ons these cars will run deep into the 12 second range. With heads and cam 11's seem to be common with a few cars running 10's. Have fun and be sure to research before you spend money.

You must mean 0-60. We dont speak that language here, we speak 1/4 mile. What is your definition of fast in the 1/4? Stock LT1s run 14.1, full boltons and a good driver gives low-high 12s depending on driver, cam only mid 11s - mid 12s depending on cam and driver, heads cam mid 10s - mid 12s depending on package and driver. From there the $ per 0.01 grows exponentially. How fast you want to go depends on how thick your wallet is.
