I could only go 115 in my 95.

Pretty sure thats how a worn-out, beat-up LT1 auto Trans Am runs. Nothing surprising there. I mean the thing had a hard time doing a burnout in 1st gear when dude tried. Any high mileage, worn-out car isn't going to rip like it did when new.

Guy on the show said it had almost 190k miles. Dude mentioned it had 275hp, sure, back in the '90s. Thing probably has a pound of gunk and carbon build-up on each valve now-a-days and makes half the power it did 18 years ago.

And he got it for $2500!!!! Who is seriously going to expect the car to be in top speed condition for that amount of money? The driver side door couldn't even stay closed! I think it was a hoopty any of us would have passed on for that price!

Dont get butt hurt about a 1000 dollar beat to **** lt1 trans am,i mean **** i think 136 mph for that car is great,i mean the lt1 while still a decent motor is way under what newer motors can do,i mean look at the cars/price tag at the ones that do close to if not 200mph,imo a old beat lt1 doing 136mph is pretty decent

Not necessarily true...
I paid $3K for my Formula 5 years ago with 88,000 miles on it. Only problem was a dead battery and peeling clearcoat. Hasn't let me down yet.

Would you pay $500 less for a car with double the miles though?? I sure wouldn't!

Not that I watch top gear much anymore, but when I did it would mostly be the UK version. I will say I can't stand the US show, Tanner brings a little hope but the other two don't do much for me.

Fastest I did in my unmodified 95 Z was 130. Still had more.

I mean jeez I did 120 something in my 98 Saturn. It was limited to 124mph.

Also top speed isn't really that great. More likely to get caught.
Whats fun is how fast you get to a certain speed.

Interesting. Born and living in the UK I will not watch the UK version. Jeremy Clarkson is an idiot.
Both my wife and I love watching the US version though.
