They are one of the last things I have to get for my car. I need to get rear discs, pads f/r, band clamps, and a handful of gaskets then I'm set. Since I have a 2nd set of heads and intake laying around I'm going to get my intake powder coated polo green or as close to it as i can to match the car. hood is getting painted along with the sail panel, and eventually the whole car.
Just need it to stop snowing and being sub 30's outside here in MI so I can get stuff done.

So my last box has showed up, don't have much to go before I can really get things going.
I need to pick up
Rear rotors, pads f/r
Gaskets, intake, tb, wp, t-stat, timing cover.
Serpentine belt
Radiator hoses
Fluids, ps and tranny
And little stuff like taps to clean stuff up, loctite, rtv, etc.
I'll toss up some pics of my car and the one I'm taking the motor from here soon.

Got a little bit done today, had to modify my egr plate to work and cleaned the ports up on my headers. Tomorrow the other car is being rolled to the barn so I can start taking the last few things apart to pull the motor.

Yeah, but you need to plan ahead on these things. It may be somewhat easy now, but what if you have to do something that requires taking the headers off while the engine is still in the bay? Like, maybe a blown header gasket or two. I had Stage 8's with my hooker headers and could never get the tightened like I can with the 3/8" ARP's I have on now. They have never backed out in the 6+ years they've been on the engine.

Good point, hoping I never have to take them out though. But you raise a very good point, I'm still learning as I go. So maybe when I get my hands on a 96-7 Ss ill go that route instead. Learn as you go with these kinda things I suppose lol.

Another small update, still can't post pics yet. The motor is out of the old car and on the engine stand, working n getting it cleaned up. Going to put all new gaskets on it, and swap a few things from my old motor. Oil pan being one, and this one is rusty. Going to get a tap this week and do my steam tube setup, and try to get the new pan and rear main seal in.

My car as it sits now, and yes someone sprayed it with mud so it really needs a bath.
And here is the other 95 I pulled the motor from, was a nice looking car at one point.
Got my crossover tube built today, and the motor is fully cleaned up and ready for paint. I need to go pick up my oil pan and valve cover from the machine shop, then I can start putting it back together. Probably will buy new bolts for the pan too.

Popped the oil pan off today, and this one is a 2 bolt main motor. So now I can say I have both a 2 and 4 bolt main LT1 sitting around. Block is getting painted this weekend and all I need is a few sensors and timing set to start putting it back together, I can't wait to hear it run again!

It's starting to look like an LT1 again. Timing cover cleaned up, new gaskets, opti is on, water pump is on. Just need to clean up the oil pan and paint it, and do the ream main seal and it's ready to be dropped back in.
