I don't know his HP ratings, but I know Vtec broke the fastest time on a stock bottom end with 9.44@139.

Here's the link to his thread on it.

Comparing my weight and trap speed to Vtec's, I'm down about 20 rwhp on him. I don't think I'm pushing the limits; running just a 100 shot. 3 years and a couple hundred runs on the motor, only about 20 on the spray.

i was nowhere near maxing it out. i spent most of my time on the suspension/car instead of trying to tune my nitrous tune. matter of fact, i would bet you could make another 100+ rwhp than i was making if you had a turbo on it.
edit- also, i can't express how bad that 9.44 pass was. there was a solid tenth on the table. at least.

yes very impressive. im trying for a 10.20 at 8000 feet altitude with a stock long block with just a small cam and some boost from a turbo still on a 6 speed.

im hitting the dyno in the morning, and im trying for 800+ on 114 race gas.

Did you just say 800rwhp on a stock bottom end LT1?

What have you hit currently?
Because there is no way in hell a stock bottom end LT1 is going to hold 800rwhp.

well last year i made 648 on 9 psi air to air on a stock lt4 intake a TB running out of fuel on 91 pump gas . . . . motor had 180k hard miles on it.

this motor has 65,000 on it. im running a giant water to air setup and will be running lots of ice, plenty of fuel, and 114 sunoco race gas.

if it pops it pops, then ill know what it will take, but my last stock bottom end is sitting in my engine room going into another customer car, pulled it apart and all was perfect, and i ran that thing lean as **** for a full season.

i think she will be fine, the motor was free, and i have a total of 400 bucks with the cam and other crap on it. its more of a stunt then anything, so im going to turn her to the moon.

I'm not worried about detonation, I'm just thinking about the stock rods bending, walking the crank, or a piston shattering at the kind of hp.

and you are 200% correct, and i am worried about the same, but how are we to find out if no one tries . . . big bang theory LT1 style, who knows this one may stay together for a 4 digit pull . . . . only time will tell, ill post vids tomorrow, it will either pop or not.

I see that you're in Aurora, Colorado, I'm in Highlands Ranch. Good luck with your goals, I'm rooting for you. Someday I'm going to have to come meet with you at your shop. Very few guys know the LT1 in the Denver-metro.

If he is in Aurora, Colorado I bet the correction factor is through the roof!. They are 5,471 feet up. Post the correction factor and the un corrected numbers. I bet the motor isnt making near that HP there in CO.

honestly the internals arent much different from the LS engines. and everyone knows about these huge hp stock 5.3's and whatnot. i would say the LT1 would be good for almost as much as far as the bottom end is concerned. weak areas would be the 2 bolt mains and the stock heads just flat out not flowing very well making it hard to pull the big numbers.
put the good fuel in there and it should be impressive! im anxiously awaiting!

well today went very well!!!!!

after 8 hours on the dyno, fighting issues, getting things figured out we finally got some decent numbers.

40 pulls most back to back on over 15 psi, some as far as 22 psi!!!!!

we ran out of dyno time for today but i will be back next week to keep cranking away at it, but so far we have it tuned about 60%, at WOT she is pretty much there, the rest of the tune will be lower rpm stuff, response mostly and drivability if you want to call it that.

heres what im working with:

65,000 mile stock long block
pro products single plane
ebay 102mm TB
single gt4202
big water/air with ice box
220 230 .544 .544 114 comp cam
dual springs
105# injectors

t56 twin disc to a 9" with 3.25 gears, on a 28 inch slick.

784hp and 820trq on 21.89 psi was the best pass we got.

Whats the most hp ever made from a stock bottom end lt1 with power adder??-photo-dyno.jpg

ill post a video in a few im uploading it to youtube now
