I just dont see myself spending over $500 for a converter. $345 is nice, close to what those Edge converters are running.
I had a Circle D 3000 stall on my 08 sierra, great stall and @$400 it was a bargain! But i think the LT1 stalls from Circle D are around $700?
I use to daily my sierra with the 3k stall, i think id wanna stay around there for my Fbody even if I dont daily drive it. 3200 or so is where id like to be at
My car wont be a full blown drag car, its mainly a street car which will see some strip use. Rarely.
Im thinking something like the LE2 set up on the top end.
Currently 40 over block on stock top end. long tubes, no cats, 3.73's, cc304 cam, and tune from PCM.
Would really like to hear what stardust thinks of the converter after hes been driving on it
First of all, all of our components we use are IDENTICAL to the parts used by Yank, Circle D, Vigilante. We all use the 245MM GM core to build our converters off of, PERIOD! So, those of you who spend $700+ on a converter still have as you call it a "cavalier" converter. There is no "NEW" 245MM, 258MM converter housings, there never has been other than when they rolled off GM's line.
We offer two lines for the LT cars, our stage 3 and stage 5. The 3 is perfect for those of you with under 500HP and less than a 100 shot of NOS. For those of you with higher NOS sprays or HP, the stage 5 billet converter is the way to go. We use the EXACT SAME KIT and core components on our stage 5 as do the other converter builders do. FYI the "billet" converters on the market are identical to the non billet converters up to the clutch disc and front cover.

There are HUNDREDS of LS1Tech members running our product is there LS cars. Unfortunately, the converter world is one that is filled with mystery and fear mongering. We try to educate our customers and all of you in the community to make it more transparent. Now, if you feel the need to spend hundreds of dollars more on the exact same part, that is your choice, but it will NOT perform any better.
