$523 is alot less than the $1500 you thought at first. And we all assume paying no labor, so $375. Can't you find some next door neighbors kid to do it for $40? Even if you didn't do the ls1 swap it would still be $423...

Don't forget the braided flex lines. I switched all my flex lines to braided SS and that with new semi-metallic pads (AC Delco) the braking greatly improved - for a while. After a drive through rain the braking wasn't as at first and can't explain it. Some times it seems soft.
Anyways i don't suspect its the flex lines and i can't imagine a brake upgrade without including those.

Budget for new wheel hubs while you're at it. Best time to swap on some new ones.

I've got a friend who races @ Road Atlanta.....SCCA type stuff which is very hard on hub assemblies. He says that they have much better luck with used GM hubs than new aftermarket ones. They go to the pull-a-parts and grab several sets every now and then. I was suprised they have trouble with either. I've been in the parts business for well over a decade and can't recall ever pricing out f-body hubs. I sell ones for late model Impalas and such....along with Silverado/Sierra hubs all the time.
