naaaasty wheel hop
So im pulling out of a local show and of course everyone is layin a little rubber. So I let em go rollin in 2nd and when it straightens out and grabs the car just jars your brain loose. Whats a affordable way to calm down the wheel hop?

You list no mods, so it's completely stock? That is hardly an issue on a stock car. Can you post any more pertinent info that might shed some light for people?

basically stock in the rear 20x10 wheels out back with a 285 tire. It has a 4:10 rear gear stock springs and shocks. Pro kit springs in front soon to install them in rear. Front strut tower bar. And runnin hot cam with ram air. With the built 4L60E and a shift kit.

What's the complete tire size? 285X?X20?
What it reads like is you are riding on rubber bands (no tire wall), and if there is only a slight wheel hop, it is accentuated by the fact the tire cannot absorb any of the impact therefore it's carried through your suspension.

Get some 15" x 10" wheels and stick some 275/60 drag radials on them.

DRs with a bit of sidewall = problem solved......and restrict your 'rubber laying' to your local drag strip.

Look to each there own not here to judge. Im not in the NHRA or NASCAR so they look good to me. Just wondering how I can settle it down for the occasional show off.

I agree with the lca's, torque arm and the weld on relocation brackets shocks also wouldn't hurt. Mine did the same thing with 285/30/19s untill i put lca's and relocation brackets.

You can get bolt on lca relocation brackets from UMI or Hotchkis and they are much easier to install than weld in. I had some moderate wheel hop in the past and this resolved my issues. Also, look at getting an adjustable TQ arm as you can better dial in your pinion angle if you've lowered or changed the geometry as you are about to do.

I am not judging you. I am telling you what is happening, and there are trade-offs in the decisions you make. I would try the relocation brackets, LCA's with poly bushings. Stiffer shocks may help as well.

Like everyone else said the wheel hop you are having can easily be fixed with some suspension parts. The most affordable way to take care of the wheel hop is with a set of lower control arms and lower control arm relocation brackets. I would look at our BMR non-adjustable lower control arms (TCA001) and BMR bolt-in relocation brackets (CAB002) if you are still running the factory 10 bolt. If you are using an aftermarket rear end like a 12 bolt, Dana 60, or nine inch than you will want to use the weld-in relocation brackets (CAB001) instead of the bolt-in version. If we can help you out in anyway let us know.
