As for tune goes. It was tuned by blue cat. A known tune shop that iv been to before to tune my old silverado. Very well possibly could use another tune. But car has been to an 8th mile track as the times are in the glovebox. Its 6s. Given that thats his car & he knows how to drive it. Buti havent been to the track yet because i need sum nice slicks on it is what im waiting for. But dont plan on ever spraying anytime soon. & is keeping the 5.3 really that ideal? Its got 130,xxx on it. Should i start doing anything to it in the meantime when $ is right ? If so what. Thanks.

& as far as my knowledge goes. The hp seems correct on my car as stroker usually put out 385-405hp plus full bolt ons. & seems like everyone with an f body wants a 9" & something along the lines of 400hp. I mean a c6 vette comes with 433hp stock ? Not shappy to be a poor mans vette lol.

But with 44lb injectors, 93 octane gas. & the gas guage dont work. But all i get is 100 miles.. Tally that up. 6mpg. Lol. Cars got all supporting mods as sub frame conncectors, spec 3 clutch. Ect. Only thing i planned on doing to it. Was rotars, & prolly save up for sum. Nice black weld racing wheels or draglights. Not a fan of the pro stars on z's.

410HP to the wheels is real good power considering that your cam seems to be a bit mild. Having your AFRs touched up by a good head porter may be worth up to 30+ more horses; AFR 210s flow a lot, but they don't always produce a lot of power 'right out the box'.

But......going to a .060" overbore ain't gonna net you squat......it'd be a bad move.

What do you know right now about your engine......Static Compression Ratio? Quench?

Oh yeah.......that 6mpg you're getting means that you need a real/decent tune (which may also be worth another 10-20 HP) .

Quench is the distance from the piston crown at top dead center, to the bottem of the heads.

Ideally, block is decked to .005".....and.....the compressed thickness of the head gasket is .030" to .035".

This would bring your engine quench to .035" to .040".....this is optimal for a street-driven Chevy small block engine. The higher you get from this point, the less power you'll make and the more prone to pre-detonation your engine will be.

GOOGLE "Engine Quench" for more info.

Yes.....which cam and if custom.....what are the specs? It's important to know what your static compression ratio is (11.47:1) AND your dynamic compression (currently unknown). For the LT1/4 engine, 9:1 to 9.5:1 dynamic compression is the optimal range.

GOOGLE "Dynamic Compression Ratio" for more info.

But isn't it true that AFR heads are speced using a .60 overbore? If that's the case those 210 heads should make more power with the bigger overbore cause its pulling more air in.

.585 is the lift, which means almost nothing. What is the duration @.050?

Sry bout all that. I havent had the car long i'm just getting peoples openions on it. I have a 5.3 motor (iron) i WAS going to trade for a .60 over spare lt1 block. But apparently. U can bore that out to obviously a 5.7 but have to use various ls1 parts to my understanding ? If so what? & what should i do to the 5.3 in the meantime just in case my 385 goes out ?
