Default 96 SS part out?

Hey guys I been in contact with this seller about his 96 SS part out

http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/part...rt-out-875674/

he has a lot of stuff I been looking for a while but I was wondering about the front and rear sway bar sizes that were used on the 96-97 SS and WS6? From the posting he says the car had lev 2 springs, bilstien shocks and struts and a bunch more great parts if anyone can confirm the size sway bars used or any additional info about the 96-97 SS and WS6 suspension packages it would be helpful and thx

I think the front is 32mm. I think the rear is no different than a regular Z28? If you get the sway bars, definitely get the bushings. Level II suspension had poly all around. Sad to see another SS gone.

All V8 4th gen rear sway bars were 19mm except the 1LE cars from 93-95 got 21mm rear sway bar. SS, WS6 and 1LE up to 99 got 32mm front sway bars and thicker (stiffer) front springs. 00-02 SS and WS6 only had appearance and intake changes, the springs and sway bars were the same as trans am and z28. 3rd gen formulas had 23mm solid rear sway bars and 36mm fronts, the front wont fit our cars but the 23mm rear bar is good for a cheap drag bar (although many say its too big for a 32 front, that is the setup Im running now, 32/23)

If you drag race that Torsen will shatter like cheap china. Only thing it's good for is for the street and auto-x/road racing. Level II consited of Bilstein shocks and Eibach(not completely sure if that's the brand) progressive rate springs.

A while back I remember reading that it is important for the springs and sway bars to work with each other so do you think the stock sway bars in my 93 formula will work well with the lev 2 springs???

Yes, springs and sway bars don't need to be matched, front and rear sway bars do though. Like you wouldn't run a 30 front and 25 rear or it would be tail happy.

Those seem to be stock spring part numbers. My stock 95 z28 springs have those exact same part #.

i put strano sways on my car a couple of months ago and it is very well planted, ive tryed occassionally to over turn and kick it sideways but with that and the watts link it just grips. Don't let price factor what you end up getting. Do research on what you want and best price. As stated though i'm pretty sure only the front is bigger on ss, and unless your super tail happy now its just going to produce tons of understeer.
