The "thingy" in the oil pan is the oil level sensor, and the "thingy" at the left rear of the intake manifold is the oil pressure sensor. I know for sure the pressure sensor's wiring is via a weatherpack plug, and I'm pretty sure the level sensor is the same deal.

Yay? Well, whatever it is is making my oil pressure gauge all wacked, it reads well past the 80psi, kinda like the gas gauge reads when its full. When I take care of the plugs tomorrow, Ill take a swing at putting it back on.

The oil pressure gauge sensors are known to fail. (they're the round sensor, external to the engine). What year is your car? IIRC, the early model year LT1s had their pressure sensors tapped in somewhere above the oil filter, and the later cars had them mounted to a "T" fitting on the upper left side of the engine, behind/alongside the intake manifold.

Either way, if your gauge is acting wacky, it's the OP sensor that's your issue.

Its a early LT1, 1993. It is right above the filter.
