Readjusted the valves again one cylinder at a time 3/4 turn passed zero lash. Narrowed the loud side to bank 2. It was at this point I knew I had to see what was going on when the car was running. I rigged up a way to hang the coil packs and bracket over the head with valve cover removed. Started car and saw no oil coming out pushrod on exhaust #2. Removed pushrod, blew through it, reinstalled finger tight. Started car and as Im snugging the nut down the wonderful sight of oil flowing through pushrod appeared, ticking is gone. Fixed.

The OP is not using a stamp steel or roller tip pivot ball style rocker arm

Unless the valve spring diameter is larger than 1.55" OD, he will not need to.

Not all rocker arms will give you that much clearance, the Comp Cams Ultra Pro Mag rockers like the ones that the OP owns do. If you are running into clearance problems on full body roller rocker arms with springs under a 1.46" OD, then the pushrods are more than likely way too short.
