The 2014 LTX SHOOTOUT

Saturday, October 4th 2014

Gateway Motorsports Park, St. Louis IL

Yes guys this is a big boy track and is the weekend after NHRA is town. There is also a test and tune Friday night. We will have many more announcements to come. We have a hotel and a place for the car show worked out so please don't book rooms tell we get the group special to you. The classes and rules will be coming in the next 30 days. I will tell you that this place has told us that NHRA rules will be enforced so make sure your car is legal for your time.

Much more to come and thanks for your support!

This is my hometrack. I am very excited. I hope to have a decent amount of seat time and hope the car is in perfect running condition. Around that time of year it will be good air, especially over in the evening time. I cant wait to meet a lot of you guys too. LSX guys think they run STL(and the world), but lets show them different. LTX Babbbbbbyyyyy!!!!!!!

Well, Bummer, since a lot of us don't have cages to support our times this will hurt, I guess no hurry in finishing my car cause it aint going happen now...

Depending on where the event hotel is that may not be a problem. Hopefully the planners pick a hotel that isn't that close to the track.

At the track it shouldn't be a problem at all. Other than rednecks getting mouthy that I parked my "shitbox" to close to their turd, I have never had a problem.

Hell, didn't Bowling Green have it's share of trucks, trailers, and cars disappearing at the hotel?

I don't know anything about the hotels. Guys I know that run NHRA from around here complained about thieves going into their motor homes and trailers while they were gone to make a run. They told me if I ever go to be certain to lock up my trailer and motor home whenever I leave my pit area. Ditto KC.

I would say also leave your trailers at the track. They have security detail on 24HRS when they have big events. If you take your stuff to the hotels I repeat "DO NOT STAY ANYWHERE IN EAST ST. LOUIS"! They will steal the stank off **** round there......... Stay in Collinsville or maybe somewhere in downtown STL (Its still a little rough but not as bad as E. St. louis).........

I have only been to the T&t and small local events and I haven't had any issues or heard of any. I have not been to any of the NHRA events so I can't really comment on that.

The good news is that the LTx Shootout is a pretty tight group that looks after each other and I doubt there will be any issues at this event.

Don't get me wrong St Louis/East St Louis is just like any other large city with it's share of *********, but I don't want anyone to be too worried about their stuff getting stolen that they don't make it out to this great event.

On a slightly unrelated subject, will you be making it to the LTx Shootout this year Ed?

Glad to here they decided and set a date. I'll be there, for sure. I was just there last fall for the NHRA races. They've got a pretty nice setup/track there, for sure.

The black bird is in pieces...as in just a shell at the moment.

I should be bringing my red formula to run in Extreme Street....it has the drivetrain out of the black car in it now

You don't realize how wide the US is until you see that it takes 14 hours from md to get there and your not even 1/3 the way across the country. I've said it for 2 years now, I'm really really really going to try to make it.

As time gets a bit closer folks normally start planning caravan meeting points...makes the drive a bit more fun...1 year from Texas we had 7 trailers and 2 vehicles driving...made for a very interesting sight along I35 to KC
