Yea, more than likely it's the opti from your symtoms and code 42 present, hey at least you got a bad opti code, sometimes they fail with no codes whatsoever. Yea, autozone dude don't know **** about LT1's or opti's...the optical sensor portion can get moisture in it and gets FUBAR, read that opti article from GM high tech performance I suggested. Autozone will more than likely take it back....give them your story and tell them their messing with a Marine and it's their patriotic duty to refund the cap and rotor purchase price LOL

There's no way a autozone cap and rotor should have cost $200 (but you are correct according to their website WTF!!)...their duralast gold opti is only $159 (lifetime warranty WITH cap and rotor..**** don't make no sense!)....That is CRAZY, you could get a MSD cap/rotor for $159. Sounds like some autozone idiot hosed you!! Go raise some hell with them is my suggestion. Still, a real AC delco is the best bet (but $500).

Won't help you in any way, but you can take that cap and rotor back.

When it arrived at autozone i thought they forgot to send the whole thing in but the guy reassured me so i guess i let my judgment go to hell. I will raise hell tommarow now brothers. Even if it means calling HQ and reporting there mal practices for suggesting the wrong ****. Thanks guys and i just bought a new OPTI, no acdelco but dose have a lifetime warrenty so im happy with that. I just dont have the money for a ACdelco or delphi or else i would.

Did you get the Cardone one or the Duralast Gold opti for future reference?

I was going to say... I tried to buy an Autozone opti, thankfully took it out of the box before leaving, spun the rotor and it had all kinds of scraping sounds. No thanks.
