If you live in an area with heavy traffic you should probably buy a corolla instead

Your getting good deal if you trade, but as far as driving around town the 6 speed is funner.

I had the same guy offer me the car for my 94 6 speed lt1 but I couldn't take the offer. Unless you're going to mod the ls1 to run 10s or something it wasn't worth it to me. You can easily get some good power out of the lt1 with just heads and cams and sounds better haha.

There you just said the best option. Sell the LT1 and get an LS1. OR swap an LS1/2/3 in there!

No comparison the LT1 front end is classic and way cooler looking than the LS1 front end. The M6 is more fun to drive and it is what I prefer. The auto is fun for hard shifts and tire chirps which are cool. And big deal if the LS1 has 40-50 more hp stock, the Lt1 turns into a monster with a little porting and a cam to match, 400+ at the crank easily with headers. I personally like the low end torque of the LT1 for street driving too.

I daily-drive a 95 TA, M6, and for the market value of LT1 cars nowadays, it's a hell of a bargain. Granted, I'm not the speed freak I used to be, but I hardly ever find myself wishing for the extra HP of an LS1. With minor mods (longtubes, shifter, SFCs) it's an enjoyable commuter that doubles as a fun car on days off.
