Details? Interesting....I bought a LS1 car at 100K, and have put another 65K on it over the years and it's been dead solid reliable, not a single engine issue other than a bad radiator and a bad power steering cooler of all things (knock on wood), then again, it's bone stock other than long tubes/dyno tune, is it modded? To turn a phrase from the late Biggie, in my experience, "mo mods, mo problems"

Im speaking in terms of modding. I think the lt1 benefits from the 40 years of research from the small block. Ls platform is already kaput and it costs a fortune just to pull the heads. What a joke...

In longevity and dollar for dollar upgrades I think the LS1 trumps the LT1 every time, JMHO...

I've owned both. I don't understand how someone would prefer a LT1 over an LS1 (even tho I was happy with my LT1 when I owned it). But hey some people love the old school engines, had some of those too

What exactly are you talking about? Cost a fortune to pull the heads??

What do you have to deal with on a LS motor?

Ok, I'll feed the troll ...Who cares about research? I'll take RESULTS over research any day; the LS is not "kaput"; sure, there's a new gen V "LT1" now, it's evolved from the original small block designed 60 years ago and continuously improved. As long as the LS engine is producing results and in plentiful supply, it's not going anywhere (just like the gen I and gen II, although their results are less impressive), it will take several years for the gen V to become plentiful and cheap enough for the masses just like the LS took a few years to really take off. Besides, you don't even need to take the heads off a LS to make ridiculous power, just put full bolt ons and a donky dick cam in a M6 and make well over 450 RWHP on stock heads so your point is moot; or the infamous 1000+ hp cheap turbo junkyard build. Not to mention it cost nothing but gaskets to do it yourself...I think your post is a joke!

you probably read my post wrong, I say old school meaning the old big block carbureted muscle monsters that frequent the car shows and meets. Some people you can't pull away from them and I totally get it

Also having owned both, I would also say the LS1 is a better platform than the LT1.

well guys i switched to the ls platform and i've got to say its been nothing but... well it hasn't been much of anything i've only put 150 miles on it since i bought it haha. However the car runs great and has 135k on the clock. I loved my lt1 but it is what it is, some move on some stay no need to make a troll post whining about how you wish you stayed lt1, if its true i'm sure one of these guys would gladly do a trade with you or yu could sell it and buy an lt1 easy.
