Default Installing Pacesetter LT's On My Car

I decided to install my headers on my car I have a 94 Z28, got the manifolds off no problem, everything was going good until it was time to bolt the headers to the car. On the right side I had to remove the starter, alternator, and motor mount. Got the header installed than the EGR, on the back of the right header, would not line up. Had to remove the tranny tube, messy fluid running, on the left side I had to remove the steering shaft, and the plugs. Believe it or not I found the left side easier than the right. All I got left to do now is, bolt the Y-pipe and install the alternator, starter, and the plugs. Oh and install both the oil tube and tranny tube. Anyone know of an easier way to install headers on these cars? Idk if it is me or not but these cars are hard to work on, and I work on cars for a living..

I had to do the same only I just unbolted both motor mounts and raised the whole engine for both sides. There's not really an easier way. I dident have to remove my trans dipstick because te T56 dosent have one

Standard operating procedure for a LT install is to remove plugs, starter, oil sensor for pre-95 cars, steering knuckle and engine oil dipstick. Some instances with auto cars you don't have to lift the engine to get headers in. Six-speed the engine has to be raised off the mounts because the bellhousing is larger. Using a Canton 242T pan you may have to raise the engine and lower the k-member a bit to get the passenger header in without damaging a very aged and brittle heater box.

I pretty much removed everything around the motor (steering shaft, emissions stuff, dipstick, starter, alternator) but never had to jack anything up or touch the mounts. Wasn't that bad but. My car is m6.

When I jacked the motor up on the right side I slipped the header down from the top no problem slipped in like a glove. Tried to reinstall the tranny tube today kinked while I got it back in place, now I can't get the stick down into the tube. Here is a question for you guys did ye buy O2 extensions or use that kit who bought Pacesetter's with the O2's? I think I am buying extensions myself I don't want to butcher the O2's..

I soldered my extensions at first and they worked great... that is until a really heavy rain storm got into all of my wire insulation and created a short. Just buy the extensions.

Different styles of LT's may not have the same kind of angles on the primaries, so getting them into place may be less of a challenge than other LT brands.

Buy the extensions. They're cheap and easy.
