That's a pretty interesting ad. There's been a car for sale around here for a while. I really want to know how on gods green earth this guy it putting down 468 RWHP NA with the combo his car has. Maybe we should start re-thinking Edlebrock: http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/4431900765.html

Pretty amazing seeing as Edelbrock only rates their LT4 package for 406FLYWHEEL hp.
It might make 368rwhp but the only way that car would run 11.2 is on the jug.
I suspent one ignorant fool bought that car from another ignorant fool and believed all the stupidity he was old.

Edlebrock claims 406bhp.
So figure CNC the heads you only need to make up (468 x .12 = x + 468 = ~524bhp) so 118bhp from CNC work on the heads =D\
Looks like its possible. AI says their 215cc LT4 make 10-20hp more than their 200cc LT1 heads and those on a purpose built 355-396 is rated at 380rwhp to 440rwhp. So another 20 on top makes 460rwhp with AI 215 LT4 heads vs what hes using Edlebrock 195 LT4 head.

Last winter a buddy at work sent me the ad. He was interested in the car. Luckily he remember I knew a bit about these cars and asked me my opinion. I promptly steered him far away from that train wreck.

Read the press release the 406hp is FLYWHEEL and WITH the CNC work.
Their supposed gains of 76hp over a stock LT4 amounts to an outright lie because the addition of HEADERS they did at the same time which they do make a footnote about in other publications.
Flow numbers are not a complete story but just a glance has the Edelbrocks 35cfm below the AI Trickflows, nowhere near the power potential.

From what it sounds like in that article is its not fully CNC'd.
" Edelbrock's new RPM Xtreme™ cylinder heads for GM LT1/LT4 engines (#61939) offer the best combination of as-cast port design and custom CNC porting technology available. By blending the affordability of as-cast ports with custom CNC porting in the critical areas (combustion chambers, intake entry, exhaust exit and intake/exhaust bowls), Edelbrock engineers are able to improve air flow and overall performance."
Only certain areas are CNC'd.
So there is some room for improvement. Enough to make a 468whp nope.

It seems like even bolton only lt1s on Craigslist always make near 500hp. It's crazy how gears add power. If your car made 300rwhp with 2.73 gears, it makes 450 with 4.10s right? 300/2.73 * 4.10 = 450.5. Seems legit. Or you just put a corvette motor in it.
Damnit I can't find the ad anymore.

The problem is most people never feel 300rwhp, ever. Even in a ride in a friends C5 Vette they never truly experience a full throttle run and those will lay down a little north of 300rwhp (330max?). So when they feel a "300hp" (commonly advertised for LT1 F-Bodies) then ride in one that has some decent work done to it they think it's jumped 200+hp.
We all know this isn't the case. Nothing we can really do about it tough. Unless CL started making their ads available with forum type responses. LOL. That would be epic......
