Heads and rockers installed. I set the lash to 1/4 turn or about .010-.012".

Installed the optispark.

Intake installed.

Engine Mounts Installed.

Mocked up Headers for sparkplug wires and found 3 holes don't line up with the heads. I got the holes pulled and all is good. Water Pump is mocked up too.

Here's a video for the valve train noise (not too bad IMO). I can't really hear any thing but maybe a faint ticking.

And the Dyno Tune. 414rwhp @6100 (still not peaked) and 381rwtq (4600). (EDIT: Turns out the Ram HDx clutch was slipping, it got worse the second time I went to the dyno, I've since replaced the Clutch with a McLeod Dual friction disc, but haven't been back to the dyno yet).

Nice! Sounds awesome. All i have to say is that there is no cam break in necessary for roller lifters, that is only for flat tappets.

Yeah I was informed about this after I did it. Oh well.

Roller Rockers also don't need the Zinc, but Harland Sharp will void the warranty if it isn't used....

great build story.

on the 2k rpm "cam break-in".....yeah "roller" aka hydraulic cams don't need break in......but your procedure is what I have always done. The 2k rpm for 20 min gets the oil circulating well, starts the ring set and basically gets everything settled. I use a temp gun to monitor header temps to make sure cyl is not getting hot/cold which would indicate other problems (fuel/ignition).

good dyno #'s and you have a nice ride to race or just drive. Good to have the kid involved....maybe the car will be around when he is old enough to drive.

Yeah, I need one of those temp guns. That's on my short list.

It'd be nice to teach him how to drive with it. I plan on having this for a very long time. Thanks.

The width of the sweep is most important, and yes, it's much better for the sweep to be on the exhaust side if it is to be off center. Only concern I have with this pic is you can see the roller tip is not fully contacting the valve.

Yeah I noticed that too. This was done with a dry erase marker, but with how much force there is between the roller tip and these springs I expected a more positive contact sweep. I will say that the first few times I did the check is came out much better (no streaks), it's almost like the dry erase maker was building up on the rocker tip.

Awesome transformation! It's nice to see a car that has had a rough life get saved and brought back from the brink... Rather than cannibalized and parted out.
