Default 2014 LTx Shootout

Are a lot of you planning on going to this? This is the first year I'll be able to go and it seems like it's not nearly as big of an event this year from what I'm reading online. Is it going to be worth the 5 hour drive?

I went the last two years. The first year I went everyone told me the event was way bigger the year before.

In my opinion it does not feel like the event is growing.

I don't have a LT1 engine anymore so feel free to disregard anything I've said.

More of a community based event then a huge car count one, I have been to a few and they're always a good time.

I've been to every one since the first in 2008, and I'll keep going as long as they keep having them. The cars that participate come and go like in any other event but this is one that always has a great atmosphere for those who attend. Make sure you stay at the host hotel if you haven't made reservations already. Four Points by Sheraton St Louis-Fairview Heights, 319 Fountains Parkway, Fairview Heights, Il 62208, 618-622-9500, ask for the LTX Shootout room rate.

Too far away for me to justify the cost. Otherwise I'd be all over it.

i really would love to get out there for the 4th year in a row but saving for a house. $1000 just in fuel for the truck is tough to justify. When I can spend that and go to a Caribbean island for a week with the gf.

Same boat here. My whole car life got pushed to the side for the last 2 years. Barely touched my motor since 2012. Even sold the TA I picked up that I really liked since I didn't have the time or money to get it how I wanted.

Have house shopping in a few months, wedding next year around November, planning a ~2 week honeymoon vacation, and looking at getting a DD after that since I'm just on my bike now and need another car.

In all honesty I have over a year and a half before I even start looking at my pile of car parts again . Maybe 2 more years before its even running???
