Good Job! Those are nice numbers all around. What rpm do you shift the 306 at?

Never weighed it, but near full weight minus a/c, front sway bar and spare and jack. but complete other than that I would guess around 3600lb race weight. stock bottom end 350.

Why so? RPM's tax the rod bolts, not cylinder pressure.
I shift lower rpm when I spray, since it shifts the powerband to the left.

Nice to see that "written off" old cam putting up some respectable numbers I don't think it gets a fair shake most of the time because people aren't running it with great heads like they are with the more modern grinds.

The extra cylinder pressure will cause the pistons to accelerate at a faster pace. Thus creating even more stress on the downward stroke.

Nice! Try to get your 60 ft down, and try shifting at 6800 rpm, you might see low 11's.
I use to shift my stock bottom end at 6800 rpm, n/a. 6500 rpm shift points on 150 shot. Have fun!

Cylinder pressure isn't putting tension on the rod bolts though.

It isn't the combustion stroke of that cylinder that applies tension to that particular rod bolt. It would be the combustion stroke of the other cylinders that are applying the cylinder pressure on their pistons which are connected to the crank which in turn is connected to the First piston that is now in the intake stroke which is being literally pulled down. Now we add even more pressure in a very large and violent manner via nitrous introduction and it tends to add much more tension to the rod bolts attempting to hold the weight of the rod and piston to the crankshaft.
Now all things being equal ie weight of the rotating mass and vehicle. The rod bolt will experience more tension, But hey I'm just a newbie spouting crazy stuff....

The rate at which it is pulled down is all weight vacuum and rpm
Cylinder pressure in the other 7 is not a factor.

I only plan on spraying max of a 125 shot as that is the highest amount I can with the solenoids I have with this nos sniper wet kit I bought. Seems to be a great nitrous cam from others I have seen that spray w/ the cc306.

I've got studs in my bottom end. Is that considered "stock" (aftermarket pistons, stock rods, stock crank)

SO what do you think is causing the entire rotating mass to accelerate???
