Making a little lead way on the car. Ripped all the interior out (it was most def pretty gross). Was in the process of removing the sound deadening material and I said "Screw It!". Going to just order new carpet from either stockinteriors.com or autointerior.com. Both are cheaper than Speed Inc ($300+).
Some fuel stuff came in today. Andy @ Squash is a great guy to deal with. He somewhat eased the pain while taking my $$$. 900LPH fuel setup for E85. Im super excited about installing it.
2 1/2 big ticket items left then I should be ready to see what almost 3 years of patients and hard work brings. Starting to get nervous!
For cheap carpet, you can go to the fabric section of Walmart or to Joeannes Fabrics and get some cheap thin fabric, and then use headliner adhesive to install it on the floor, then put some rubber or a floor mat by your feet so it doesn't rip. your not hauling crap anymore so durability in the other areas isn't crucial. Stock carpet is like 35lbs I think when I weighed mine, granted it was disgusting.
Yea, my wife bought some carpet as a Valentines Day gift. She bought it from Auto Interior.com. It doesnt have mass backing or the sound deadening material. The ship weight was like 10lbs. I may have to send it back as she accidentally purchased the convertible carpet instead of the coupe. She didnt want me to put speaker box carpet down. She said it'd look cheap and raggly. Lol
Just a small parts update. I have basically been spending time with the baby and just trying to collect all the parts I need to get back on the road. Once I aquire 90% of parts, I will start putting car back together. Ordering my PTFE hose in the next couple weeks along with fittings to finish up fuel system.
When is this thing gonna run? You have a goal or ETA for getting it dyno'd?
My goal is to break into the 9s (9.99) and at least 700rwhp. Trying to get car to weigh 3250 with me in it. I wanna also see if I can hit 18-20lbs on Q16 and see where that will put my final dyno numbers/ET.
Im no dyno queen at all, that is what I am least concerned with. But, I throw dyno figures out there to give myself a general ET range I should be in. But I'd rather have 675whp and break 9s rather than 800whp and barely get out of the 10's.
All I need is injectors and I'll be putting her all back together. Just found a deal on ID1700 for $1500, now I just need to come up with the money!

I just meant did you have a timeline for tuning it on the dyno.
So again, a lot of things went on in my life to keep me from progressing forward with this build. I think I am going to have an anxiety attack lol. But basically I have stacked up parts over the past 5 months. With the AC unit in my house going out, taking the family on trips, daughters first birthday and taking my wife on a anniversary trip, the build was at a standstill. But I learned patience and came into some great deals some would only dream of.
The climax of the build was taking a chance on buying this parts roller for $1300 with a 12 bolt in it. At this time I was contemplating on just purchasing my injectors($1500) so I could have the car running and tuned. Instead I bought the roller. Took rear out and posted it for sale the same day. Sold it a week later for $1200 + drag wheel setup. I added a stashed $300 to the pot and ordered my injectors. So basically I came up with drag wheels, Moser 12 bolt and my injectors for $1500!
I was absolutely blown away that it happened and how quick it happened. Patience pays off! Sometimes.....
LS style fuel tank with the Squash intank drop in
Car has no interior right now, was prepping for lightweight carpet, but I decided to spend money in other places...
Rear Hypercoil springs (138lbs) came in so I could convert my DA shocks to rear coilovers...
Moser 12 bolt I swapped from a parts car I purchased for dirt cheap. The climax of the build!
Sold the parts car for some money and drag wheel setup. 15x4 skinnies and 15x10 Billet Specialties on 27" 10.5s.
Parts car also hard some very beat up upper and lower A arms. Had a friend sandblast them, prime and paint them for $20. Sounded like a good deal to me! So now car is full suspension.
Somewhat custom fuel rail setup, waiting on the rest of my fittings to finish up
What can I say, selling my parts car allowed me to purchase these bad boys. ID1300s!
Finally got it rolling again. And of course I have the fbody lean going on. When car returns, I will be able to get it sit correct.
