Default unknown cable under driver side kick panel.

I am new to this site, and need some help. I have a 95 z28 lt1. And I was looking under the driver side kick panel. When I seen a cable under there. It is not hook to anything. It looks like a throttle cable. But it's not the throttle cable. Incased in a plastic tubing, and when I pull on it. The cable pulls out of it. I can't find where it goes. And don't even know what it is. I drive the car everyday, and nothing seems wrong with it. But still would like to know what it is. And where does it go. If anyone could help me with this. I would be so thankful.

Thanks, Doug.

And it runs in behind the break pedal into the firewall.

Here it is going in behind the break pedal. It is the one on the left side of the bolt.

Yes that is a shifter interlock cable for an auto. If everything is working ok I would let it be. It goes down the carpet over to the shifter. It does not go outside the firewall.

Oh OK. Yes it is an auto and everything is working good. The last owner replace the ignition switch. and I don't think he put everything back. Cause now my steering wheel moves Side to side and up and down. But only if you pull on it hard. And the tilt lock is lock in place. So now I am going to have to take that apart and see what is missing. Any help would be greatful thanks.
