To the OP, weld a string of beer cans together and wrap em with CF tape.

Oh so crappy molds (likely from ignorant engineers not understanding the materials they are working with) is a CF problem. I work with a lot of CF and aluminum where I'm at. The CF is rarely of ever damaged. The aluminum is routinely corroded or scratched, ripped, dented, etc. Magnesium is even worse for corrosion. By far the most resilient is the CF. Not to say they don't break, everything breaks.
The beer can comment is halarious though. I LOLed.
