I appreciate the offer, my stock ones are “here” they just suck at light output. I might just need fancier bulbs, or they just suck from factory. The mounts are a little haggered, once I get the EWP back I’ll try to test the light output and see if I need stock replacements, new bulbs, or retrofit.

Did you ever move?

Decided to count some chickens tonight that my K&N intake with stock elbow deal happens tomorrow, and installed the craigslist score hood from a few years ago. Yes it needs some better fitting, but remember I’m optimistic that it’s coming off to pull the motor soon. Also posted my running motor for sale, the one in the car. Soon will post my LS1 lid all modified to fit an LT1 if anyone’s interested.

Pics below also show the dilemma I’m going to hit when I want to paint the hood, the little fibers in the carbon fiber leave holes for the paint, so not sure if I need to try to strip the POs primer off and go for carbon fiber, or do a high build primer and try to paint it. Ultimate goal would be the whole car, + an SS spoiler I don’t have, being ford bullet green.

Plastidip it or wrap it. Cheap and easy ways to clean it up

(and no move yet, prison sentence is 16 months and a wake up)

If talking the whole car, you need to make sure the body is smooth before wrapping. If there are blemishes/uneven surfaces it will show through the wrap and most likely start peeling in a short time.

I mustache if anyone can figure out our costumes. I had to fire up the car quick without a water pump and get it out just for these pictures. I think we won Halloween. All credit goes to my wife, but this years is going to be hard to top.

Luckily it was warm out yesterday, until the storms rolled through. Killing it by the way.

I got a call from CSR early this morning, the EWP got there Friday night and I do appreciate their customer service getting to it by 9am today. Bad news is the pump is 100% completely toast, nothing salvageable. Apparently when my buddy mounted it he ground down the pump, instead of the housing, creating a thin spot that cracked, and let water in, and the motor has been submerged in water for who knows how long, and he couldn’t believe it lasted as long as it did. Nothing, not even the housing, is salvageable.

So I paid $27 for a box and shipping, and that is gone, as well as the pump, I should have opened the pump up before I shipped it and just thrown it away and saved $27. A new CSR pump is $185, and I’m not doing that right now, partly because I might end up road racing and wanting mech anyways, and part because I need other stuff. So now I’m on the hunt for my stock pump or a cheap pump. Anyone have a stock pump laying around?

Where I live there are a lot of two-lane roads with no street lights to diffuse anything. Stock SUV's and the like are all bright as ****. I've brighted a few of them and their answer back was to turn theirs on and burn permanent impressions on my retinas. My Camaro lights don't stand a chance when trying to see what's in front of me.

There's a fair share of blinding that comes my way as well. I don't let it bother me. My car also sees less than 1000 miles a year on the street, 98% of which is during the day. When I need lights at night I want to be able to see and the stock headlights suck so until someone comes up with a tasteful way to do better or someone develops a headlight housing that works better I'm keeping what I have. I'm not changing the the appearance of my car with round projectors either. That look is just not my thing.

On the headlight discussion, I really like the clean look of a rectangle fitting in the rectangle hole, rather than the 2 factory squares or the 2 circles. I liked the clean look I saw of the BMW lights and OBS truck lights. I’m wayyyy too broke for the blackbird HIDs, but I also don’t have a welder, so not sure what I’ll end up doing.

I got my new eBay water pump in the mail, it’s harder to spin with my fingers than I thought it would be but maybe that’s because it’s new and a tight seal, hoping it loosens up a bit because it definitely would take away some HP, and is making me miss my EWP. I’ll get that swapped in one of these nights and hopefully be able to take a drive.
