Default 24x Le2 355 problems after 1st drive

My car is finally back on the road kinda. Got the new motor in had a couple issues after the 1st startup. Steam pipe leaked and fuel injectors leaked. Got both fixed this morning and she fired right up. No more leaks and idled for about 10 mins to get to operating temp. Ran smooth the entire time. Shut her down and let her cool off, changed the oil and a few hrs later took her for the 1st test drive. Started right up and ran great for half a mile. Then she started bucking and trying to die. Gave her a little throttle and it got a little better. 5 seconds later she lost all power like she wasn't getting fuel and shut off. Got her started again and ran like crap and died again. At least this time it was in front of my house and I coasted to the curb. Check engine light was on. The only scanner I have is torque on my phone. It pulled 2 codes P0452 and P0757. So I cleared the codes and got her to start again. This time my compressor locked up and threw my belt. I know the locked up compressor can put a load on the motor but would it be enough to kill it? I've read that the P0757 can be just a tuning issue because of my 3600 stall. What about the P0452? I deleted all of my Evap stuff. Would that code cause a fuel issue? The fuel pump should still be good. I replaced it last year with a racetronix kit.

Sounds like it runs good in open loop and as soon as it warms up (few minutes) and goes into closed loop, it runs like crap. Get it to run like crap, jack the car up and unplug the O2's and then start it up and see what happens. Unplugging them will force the car into open loop mode. Then you can troubleshoot from there.

I finally got a chance to work on the car. I replaced the compressor and she started right up. I just let it idle. Once again got to operating temp and died. Seems to be idling low once warmed up around 600 rpm. I unplugged to O2 sensors to get for it back to open loop. Didn't change anything. Still dies. She'll keep running if I keep my foot on the peddle and hold it at 1000 rpm. I just got a fuel pressure sensor but haven't had a chance to install it. I did talk to the guy that tuned it. Said it's just a startup tune. Just to get it running to check for leaks. He said I need to bring it to the shop to get the tuning worked on. Could the tune really be causing the issues?

Well.....when my 2014 SS (LS3 engine) did that, it was vacuum leaks. Except in my case.....I had to keep it at least at 1400 RPMs.

Best of luck!

Whatever the startup tune is its also the baseline tune. The car wasn't 24x till the new motor went in. I emailed the tuner to see if he can send me a copy of the tune. Just waiting to hear back from him.

Unfortunately no. They called me on Wed and said that the plugs were fouled out. Asked me if they could change them. I said go for it since it was already there. Then they said they would get it on the dyno and let me know. I hadn't heard anything so I called them yesterday afternoon. They said they got the plugs changed and they're a few cars still ahead of mine waiting for the dyno.

I went with the mounts from efi connection. Every now and then they sell "blemished" mounts for a better price. The only thing I noticed is that the company logo was missing from them. Not that you would see it anyway. I also had to move #2 coil mount because the alternator mount was in the way. Just had to drill 2 holes.

Finally an update.

Went by the shop to see what's been done to the car. They changed the plugs and got the idle issue worked out with the tune. They said it should be on the dyno tomorrow for more tuning and possibly be done tomorrow night. I asked for my keys and it started right up. Idles a little low at the cold start, but picks up some after it warms up. Put it in gear and the idle didn't change at all. They said it still needs some tweeking. Either way it was still nice to hear the cam at idle. Sounded great.

Excellent! Congrats on the progress. Looking forward to hearing how the tune sets you up.
