getting an a4 lt1,used to own m6, questions!
hey guys, i sold my lt1 over 10 years ago. I had a 95 z28,m6.(bolt ons and n20) looking to get back in the game, and build a street/track car. This will not be a daily driver. Most of the lt1s that are clean, stock and in the price range i want to spend are automatics. what kind of 60ft times can a stock lt1 pull? what about 373 grears and a 3600rpm stall? Im afraid its going to be a dog off the line. Make me feel better. My plans for the car are longtubes, cam, gears, stall,n2o. than upgrade heads, moser 12bolt, etc as time goes on. thanks!

A good-running bolt-on car with a 2800-3200 stall, 3.73s and a set of drag radials is easily capable of cutting short times in the high 1.6s to low 1.7s. If the car has the rest of the bolt-on mods (headers & exhaust, CAI, tune) it will run high 12s at 103-105 mph. Add a cam, valvetrain and tune to this and you'll see low 12s at 108-111mph and tickle the 10s on a 150 shot. I had quite a few friends who ran setups like this years ago, they took the stock 10-bolt rear with a girdle well into the 10s and 1.5x short times by preloading it on the launch.
Once you put gears, stall and tune in a A4 car the only way a similarly set up M6 car can threaten you is from a roll.
