Default FYI, LT1/LT4 buildup......

..........is being covered as a 2 part "build up" in 'Chevy High Performance' magazine. Part 1 is in the June 2016 issue, which I received in the mail yesterday. Part 2, most likely, will be in the July issue...........

This is supposed to be a "Stealthy" LT1 with a big red (and quite expensive red LT4 intake, BBK 58mm TB ) Seems like they could have done a lot better actually raising compression over stock LT4 levels, have the STOCK LT1 intake/heads ported buy a good porter, and get a stock TB ported to 52mm....so everything has stocklike stealth appearance (and make more power doing so to boot!)

Problem is magazines base their builds on free/heavily discounted products from sponsors, hence while it's almost always off the shelf parts. I'm sure they'd be happy to run many of the ported stock casting packages if one of the companies was willing to buy ad space and throw them some free parts.

To be honest a red intake to pretty much anyone outside the LT1 circle means nothing to them, just that someone might have powdercoated/rattle canned an intake because they like red.

Yes only acceptable aftermarket colors are hot pink or safety green

Yeah. The could've easily done more and still maintained drivability. That cam (SMH) would barely be interesting in a "cam only" upgrade.

It's definitely not what I would call a 'Performance Build'.

Pretty sure the opti and and water pump drive seals are designed to be installed dry too (if I remember correctly).

Part 2 in case no one saw it.
