For the LS1 brake conversion you just need LS1 spindles, no special adapter brackets.
FWIW, I did the LS1 brake upgrade a couple years ago and needed the following parts: LS1 spindles, LS1 calipers w/brackets, rotors, pads. I used the factory LT1 brake lines which were more than long enough (my car is lowered quite a bit which helped, may not be the case for everyone so longer lines may be necessary).

Go with stainless brake lines. Worth the money IMO. My previous fbody, (95 Z28) was a road course slayer, and a real threat to autox events. It was a proven top 3 car and most of the time top 5 at autox events, always a top 3 in road course. I went with stainless brake lines for the 93-97 when I did the 98-02 brake swap. My car was lowered on Sam Strano springs, so like some others said, depending on ride height you may need the longer lines. While your down there, might as well flush all the old brake fluid out the system and replace with DOT4 or 5. Grease the slider pins etc. it's amazing how much more confident you will feel knowing your brakes are better lol.

when i did mine, i got the complete setup from the junk yard minus the rotors for cheap. got new rotors and pads. i used the ls rubber lines and bent the hard lines little and had plenty of slack. even before i lowered it. now would be the best time to do your ball joints too

The first time I saw an 96 SS in person was in a mall in Roanoke, VA. I remember walking around the car and the left front brake rotor caught my eye....I remember thinking those rotors are really big!
The only real trouble I had with the LS1 swap was that my caster adjustment is not quite right. I replaced some of the lower A arm parts at the same time. The tech said that he couldn't get the adjustment far enough on the right side. As such the car wants to pull that way just a little. We thought the spindle might be bent, so I put a second one on it and no change.
I need to get it to a race shop and let them look at the alignment closer. All the "general" alignment shops don't want to spend time trying to troubleshoot it.
