Default Please help me....

Okay here's the deal. My 94 z28 died while driving on the freeway would not start again. I had it towed home and started researching. The car would crank but wouldn't start. Has a new opti new plugs new wires . So I pulled a plug and tested for spark which there was not one . I narrowed it down to the icm. Replaced that now car will turn over run for a second and die. Has aaa come out and try to jump me. It did the same thing although the aaa guy tested my battery and said it was dead. I don't know what would be wrong the battery shouldn't stop it from running especially cause I have a new alternator. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Iirc, the alternator provides enough juice to maintain a charge but not bring a battery back from being depleted. You might want to hook it up to a battery tender and see what it does when it's fully charged. The battery could be dead for other reasons based on how old it is. Cars do weird things when they don't have the correct voltage.

The time my car would fire up then die immediately was due to a dead pcm. I hope that isn't the case for you.

Is there any way to test for a bad pcm?

Also if it were my pcm wouldn't it throw a code? That's another issue is the car won't throw a single code

When it fires up is there any sort of throttle response before it dies? It's possible there is not enough voltage in the battery for the alternator to recover and charge and the engine will run like ***. If the battery is dead, charge it and try again.

If I hold down the gas it'll run but the second I let go it died and if I just turn it over it'll idle for a second and then it stalls

I'd have the alt tested.

Test both alternator and battery.
