Exclamation LT1 Intake

Is it possible to turn the LT1 intake 180 degrees> I know you can rotate the LS intake, but how about the LT1 intake?

Don't think you could without some welding/machining. The LT1 intake seals off the lifter valley at the front and back of the block. The intake might have enough sealing surface to cover the ridges but I don't think anyone has ever tried. You'd also have to do some grinding to fit the oil pres sender.

Run a super vic if you want to turn it the other way, I did have a custom fabbed sheetmetal intake that could have been turned around if I wanted to.

Depending on what you're attempting to do, the EGR would wind up in front of the engine, and the throttle body would be in the back, and your fuel rail plumbing would also be facing the front of the engine, too.

Thanks for the help. I have an LT1 in a street rod that does not have much room between the engine and fan/radiator. It has a fabricated fitting on the throttle body that does not have a smooth airflow. Just trying to make things easier to access.

Would blocking off the front, cutting into the top work out for you?

That is an interesting thought. I might have to find a spare intake and look into that.

GMPP make a carb intake for the LT1. You would need a rear standard distributor...and a carb but you could get one of those FI carbs

GMPP also makes the Opti block off plate

IDK if this combo solves your space issue
