Default Iac position?

I recently installed a cc503 cam and got a mail order tune for it. Using eehack I saw that at warm idle my iac position is at around 60. Is that acceptable? I'm having issues with it shutting off when putting it in reverse or drive so I'm wondering if this could be the cause?

IAC wants to be 30-35 (32) at idle. maybe yours are pegging at 160 when you add load to engine (putting it in gear, turning the wheel, etc)

what are they when you put it in gear and it stalls?

if 60 that should not be a issue.

do you have a tune for the new cam?

If IAC is at 60 when the car shuts off...the IAC is not the problem

Could that mean that my tune is off?

It idles at around 800-850 rpm when in park and then when I put it in drive it kind of bogs down and shuts off, I can keep it alive by quickly shifting into drive and giving it a little gas though.

Mail order tune... from whom? Might be an indicator.

Something is happening where you either aren't getting enough fuel or air when the additional load of being in gear is applied. IIRC there is a table in the PCM that specifically applies to the A4 guys where additional idle air or fuel is added when placed into gear.

Yes. In datalogging and you can graph it too.

I forgot to mention that it shuts down on me when it enters closed loop. When it is in open loop it goes into gear better but not 100 percent but it does not turn off on me.

???, higher than normal IAC counts (60) are common with aftermarket TB and cams, not so much with stock TB as they have the center idle air hole in them

Still IAC at 60 with engine at operating temp and no AC on is high. Should be 30-35. If you could read IAC counts when you put it in gear to see if they peg at 160. Then the car would stall

Who did the mail order tune?

Have you discussed your issue with them?

I am still awaiting a response since I barely let the tuner know yesterday. I just wanted to get informed of what the problem could be before I heard back.

My car is exactly the same way since my CC503 install. My IAC has been at 32-34 at idle when I was stock. I have the stock throttle body on mine as well. My PCM was tuned by Solomon and now stays up around 100-120 at idle in park/neutral and around 130 in gear... Is there a way to fix this or is it just in the tune?

Default Idle issues

That IAC number that high is your problem. I send instructions for fixing that with PCMs for vehicles with bigger than stock cams, back with the PCMs.
