even after routing them away from the headers...] these things are tied up real good and haven't had a misfire yet! They may be pricey, but think about all the plug wire sets people can go through from burning them on the exhaust from poor routing... These things withstand 600-2000 deg F!!http://www.jegs.com/p/Accel/Accel-Ex...ductId=1528525
When DIS was created, I found the requirement for MORE wire resistance needed to allow for a longer spark.
That created a wire (8.5mm) of a specific design/manufacturing process with a 5O OR 250 Ohm per foot choice.
The wire brand name would be FireCore.
The Impedance of the SPW is VERY important as that resistance (higher) WILL allow the spark to be longer as ALL OEMs have found.
Thus LS-x CNP wires less than a foot in length, I use/specify the use of FireCore 250 wire.
The Opti/Distributed application of wire sets greater than one foot in length, I use the FireCore 50 wire.
The RPM Range of the engine enters the choice question with low RPM engine operation requiring MORE wire resistance.
I can provide a FireCore wire set with either A-Bit, HT, Opti coil ends, no steel boots.
