Default Which Y pipe

Got my gen1 swap done in my 95z and have a set of hooker lt's in it. Looking to see what y pipe any of ya'll have used. Obviously the hooker should hook up, but's it's $100 more than some of the other options. Any suggestions on a y and exhaust set up would be appreciated. Thanks.

Make your own with a Flowmaster merge. A lot of options out there are junk design.

Alright, after I posted this up I did some more digging and had remembered reading about the flowmaster merge. Just get a couple different bends and go from there? What about the rest of the exhaust, just do the same?

Buy any catback you want, build a y pipe from headers to the catback. That way if you want to change the catback, you can and the y pipe will still work.

From what I understand is this merge also eliminates the rasp we all suffer from with the traditional merge.

It does. My PS Y pipe was horrendous. All the aftermarket merge pipes are made pretty similar.

I made my own setup and is very smooth.

The merge on Kooks y-pipes is much nicer than it used to be.

The kooks is quite pricey, and if the flowmaster takes care of the raspy I'll get some pipe or canabilze a kit from somewhere and make my own one weekend.

Yeah, I was just making a general statement as their new merge is now similar to the Flowmaster merge.

The Kooks y-pipe probably wouldn't work anyway, at least not without some modification, because I think Hooker headers use a ball & socket type flange on the collector. I could be mistaken.

The newer ones may, but mine are the typical 3 bolt flange ones.

Don't get dad new socks or a grill brush this year.
