Default LT1 problems lol

Hey people. having a issue.
so my check engine light came on. took it to the dealer and they said its my airflow sensor code and that the whole throttle body needs to be replaced.
sounds a bit fishy so wanted to get some more info.
i was thinking of just getting a new airflow sensor and seeing if that would work.

If you have a code for the MAF I don't see why the Throttle Body needs replacing as the dealership said....which is why I asked what code you have...which would point to what may be the issue.

You can buy a cheap OBD 2 code reader so you don't have to take it somewhere to get the code read...and if that shop is even giving you accurate info.

what year/model car?

You could potentially have a bad gasket under the plate on the top of your throttle body. This happened to me and my car wouldn't idle right... vacuum leak. I could definitely see this creating a MAF code... cheap fix too.
