Thoughts on LS7 lifters?
Ballz. SSRR where did you buy them? I'm wondering if so called LS7 lifters are not all "LS7" and something else entirely. Hmmm. I have a set in a one season engine thats getting torn down soon so I'll be able to contribute some feedback. These were Summit house brand LS7's
Enough to scare me away, im using comp 850s right now on a 6200rpm 215/224 .533 lift cam right now.
Im thinking Morel or Johnson lifters on my next build that will be more aggressive.

lulz. i know you say that with all the love in the world!
and i NEVER argued you were wrong! i just wanted more proof. this thread convinced me i should look at them, and i have you and others to thank for that!

**** it. I am about a **** hair away from cleaning up the Comp R's and using them.
Oh, and I ordered Lunati lifters a few weeks back. Any fucky stories about them? The lifter bodys look identical to the LS7's- p/n 72910-16

x2 unless those Lunatis happen to be Morels. I forget the details but Morel might make some or all of the Lunati lifters or vice verse or some **** like that. Morel 5315 is a nice inexpensive drop in option.
Just a heads up SSS RR but you may already know this.. the LS7s like more preload than the aftermarket stuff and the pushrod cups are different between a lot of them so your pushrod lengths may change. I needed to change pushrod lengths when going from GM lifters to both Morels and Johnsons on my LS stuff.

Understood. Just talked to a rep from Johnson who said the same thing. In my limited research there were only a few lunati lifters made by morel, however the Lunatis I have are pretty much the same price as the 5315's. I can't find anything good/bad or indifferent (ie JACK SQUAT) about the 72910's.
I'm not listening to you, LA LA LA LA LA LA!
What I have found in the LS world is many are poo poo'ing on the LS7 lifters. Don't run them.
I wouldn't be surprised if they started cutting costs and made these lifters cheaper over the years. I just had mine out a week or so ago when I did new valve springs and thankfully they all looked fine.
**** those flakey piece of CHI-NA sacks of ****.
The dimples on the roller is oil coating. These things looked brand new.
