Default N/A 500 rwhp LT1 Set ups

Hey guys I was just wondering who on here has any set ups that are putting this kind of power down and what your mods are with it. Thanks
Also would like to know if that kinda power is even achievable or not.

Budget, and if you want to have it remotely streetable would need to be answered first.

I had 460 to the wheels with NA LE3 383 24x. Around 500 flywheel HP
It was streetable.

Selling everything and parting out, so follow me in the next few weeks. I am a long time member and have owned the car since 1998.

500rwhp N/A streetable will be hard. You would be better going FI to be honest. I know that's not what you asked for, but it will be best.

You will most likely be looking at solid roller if you want 500rwhp

Lotta cubes
Lotta compression - 12+:1
Lotta cam
Expertly ported heads
Lotta RPMs means solid roller setup and LS-style PCM is almost a must
Long tubes with the biggest tubes you can stuff into the engine bay

Unfortunately the biggest limitation with the LT1 is cubic inches. Otherwise 500 rwhp would be a piece of cake.

Not really. Biggest limitation is the inferior, sixty-plus year old head design and not so hot intake.

Plenty of ways around the head/intake problems but almost none to get over 396 ci

More CID does not automatically mean more power. More torque, yes, but not so much with power.

11-18 degree heads, Brodix, SB2.2, they've all been on an LT1 so don't know WTF you're talking about.

Even during the prime of the LTx there were only a handful running those kind of setups. Not even close to being as ideal as what's been offered for the LS running less than 396CID and producing a **** ton of power. Power does not come from the bottom end.

I made 502 rwhp a few years ago. Although the motor is tired now. Anyway....
396ci M6
11.5 comp
Mildly ported AFR 195cc heads (should be in the 205cc range)
236/242 .582/.582 112
Ported LT4 intake

The short block was built in 04 and it was used as a daily for most I've the time I've had it. Its definitely lost power. It's about to come back out and get rebuilt, heads ported further, bigger cam.
