Default Lt1 to vortec 350 swap

Hey guys I picked up a 94 z28 it was a roller with no engine or trans had a spare vortec 350 out of my gf’s truck and a t56 I was gonna throw in there. I can’t seem to get the motor mounts to line up on the block correctly seems like they won’t fit, also think the guy mixed a mount up as well because only two bolt holes line up on the k member. Any one ever swap a vortec 350 out of a 96 k1500 and put it in the 4th gens have this problem?

Had this exact set up in my car last season. You're doing everything right, the LT1 mounting bosses are cast different, you will only be able to mount two of the motor mount bolts to the block. Worked just fine for me, and the multiple other people on here who have done the swap with stock k member's. You will need to cut out your cowl some to clearance for the distributor possibly. The slim cap may fit, you just wont be able to pull it if you needed. Staying FI or going carb?? These two threads helped me out bunch in the beginning. I kept meaning to make a build thread, but never kept it updated.

^^^ Both those builds are ****. Love the flat black paint job in the first link. Would love to do this swap with a 420+cid small block, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut cutting up the cowl is not in the cards.

I believe you could possibly get away with not doing it if you ran a small low profile cap, or a crank trigger type set up. I had to cut mine to allow for a tall single plane and the carb to fit. Rigged a pivot with some shorter arms to keep a driver side wiper.

Don't know if that would yield enough air for big block-like displacement?
