Well i've been looing for a set of headers for my car. And i was wondering what would be the best way to go with a cutout after the headers? Shorty's or Long tubes? What what is a good brand to go with? thanks!

Finish Line Performance long tubes are a good brand to go with. The clamps they provide suck but overall, they are a really nice set of headers. No ground clearance issues.

the design of the car will cause you to have ground clearence issues with LTs on any lowered car.

with that said good headers arent cheap. there is no reason for a two peice design on the drivers side. so dont buy a two peice header. FLPs are good, TPiS makes good headers as well. kooks is there. a company called TTS made equal length headers at one time not sure if they still do. I pesonally have TPiS headers ready to go in. just havent had the time.

As far as price, Hooker LTs can't be beat. You can get a set of uncoated 1 3/4" LTs for $409 from Summit.

Ground clearence is a problem for me because the guy before me lower it 2 inchs. It looks good and handles better but Speed bumbs are a problem. And i don't want to dent a new set of headers. are the Hooker LTs going to have problem with ground clearence? Thanks

Unfortunatley, FLP doesnt sell their LT1 longtubes anymore. Due to low sales volume or something. Apparantly there is a waiting list you can get on, and if they ever get enough people to make an order, you can get a set. The guy on the phone told me it would prolly be around 6 months before this happens.

I also contacted dynomax (who makes the headers for FLP) and they said that they aren't manufacturing them anymore.

I had my heart set on FLPs for forever, but now ive got to find a new brand.

I a few other good LT1 header manufacturers, but i havent seen anyone else who offers a complete package like FLP did. (ie with longtubes, a pair of hi-flo cats and tubing in between. ) Is there another kit like this out there?

Random tech offers a y pipe that fits up to TPiS longtube headers. the y pipe is designed to connect up to the factory cat back system after cutting it to length. thats what i will be doing. for after market cat backs youll prolly need a pipe to connect up to them unless they follow the stock routing.

That sucks that FLP stop making LT1 long tubes. I've recieved so many good compliments from various car mechanics on how good they look. But as far as a complete package, Thunder Racing sells one with headers, y-pipe, cats, gaskets, header bolts, fire sleeves, and some other goodies. The headers are Arizona Speed and Marine I believe. It comes with everything you will ever need on a header install minus the tools. I think it costs around $1500.
