1997 camaro exhaust hangers
Hey all,
I'm in the process of removing an old true dual setup to be replaced by a stock-shaped 3" stainless setup on my 1997 z28. all of the hanger brackets are gone. I don't even know what they look like either, for the rear the two bushings where the bracket went are still there but the brackets are gone. The bushing for the bracket where the y pipe os located is missing also. Anyone know of any good alternatives or have pictures of the stock exhaust so I maybe could fabricate something? Attached is what the exhaust looks like.

It's just a resonator, this car back is from phab, I've had really good fitment with their stuff and the welds look really good. I plan on putting a borla muffler on it though that resonator is just temporary.

Exhaust shops have hangers that work. Slip in the rubber bushing, weld to pipe, it aint coming out. Theyre nothing special, i think OE was stamped steel, exhaust shops are bent rods.

First pic is passenger side rear frame rail that I hadn't taken off yet. The other pics are the driver side rear frame rail. The assembly is what it is, I'm not sure how you have a bushing and no bracket? Your tailpipes should slide into these and secure it even though your exhaust company used round stock vs the Factory using flat stock. The factory type would be much better IMO but you've got what you've got with the kit. As far as what's on the y pipe I'm not 100% sure on a 96-97 dual cat car. My car is 95 and it has a single cat from the factory and the cat itself had a bracket bolted to the back of it that slid into a bracket that mounted to the transmission mount. That's how it was retained on my car. If you have long tube headers and matching y pipe you don't need a mount for the y pipe, the headers typically are long enough under the car and are strong enough to support the exhaust intermediate pipe as well. Put long tubes on it and you're GTG!

Since the OEMs aren't available, the LS1ers have been using these as replacements.

Shouldn't these be a dime a dozen? I'm thinking they were used for more than just the V8 4th gen platform? There's a few f-body salvage sites on FB. You could always try Hawks as a last resort, but be prepared to pay sixty seven thousand million dollars for each of them.
