Okay so according to those specs the 230 238 cam the builder recommended will be a good choice. Run a .039-.041 gasket. Should make power up to 6k and probably rev out and shift at 65ish. No sense putting a big cam in it, just worsens driveability, will cam surge and you will need to spend more on gear and raise compression. With the 230 cam you will be at 8.2 dynamic which is perfect for reliable pump gas and great power and leaves some room for added timing.

When I spoke to Comp cams they want me in the 240 cam the one I originally was looking at and they said the smaller cam was kinda small for a 383 stroker

If that's what you want then I'd bump compression to 11.5-12:1 and run a single plane and 4.10 gears, 4000-4500 stall. If it was me. Run race gas when at the track and pull 3 degrees for every 50 you spray. Probably wont have the best street manners but it would move out. I'd personally go with the smaller cam for what you have now.

After countless calls I think I'm going to run the 23x cam. My engine tuner said it will be easier to tune as well. Spoke to my engine builder today and were gonna bump the c/r up to 11.5. Hopefully it wont cost much more. The eagle kit I was looking at doesn't have that CR.

Sorry we're getting to the party late. It sounds like you have things covered with your tuner but going with a stand-alone computer could open up your tuning window.

if you are set on the XFI cam...order it on a 110lsa instead of the 113lsa

I would suggest LLoyds 231/239 or

HaterMaker Stage 2 Camshaft for 1993-1997 LT1/LT4 Engines - Tick Performance, Inc.

over the XFI 467

Maybe I'm not seeing it. But I don't see a 110lsa? Also what does that effect?

all 3 of those cams will have similar RPM ranges

you will have to call comp and order the XFI cam cut on a 110....it would be a custom order....the TICK or LE cam would still be preferable over the XFI
