Default missfire or cam surge?

how can I tell the difference?
Just got my stroker with the tick hatemaker2 cam installed and anything in the 2-3,000rpm range feels like crap. Its not undriveable but shes is not happy. After 3k she runs great and very strong. the kicker is from 1-2000 rpms she isnt too bad under light load. did 200 miles yesterday freeway driving and it was very driveable under 2k on the freeway. The other thing is when under load between 2-3000rpms she seems "better" then under light load. Reason Im asking is it was much much worst but then I found a spark plug wire crushed between the power steering line once I got that out it was better. I looked at the rest of the wire and routing and they seem okay. But I had to do alot of funky stuff with the wires in terms of changing boots to different angles when I installed everything. so not sure its a missfire or cam surge. thanks for the help.

If it's not surging much under 2,000 then it shouldn't above it. You sure it's not a problem with the tune?

Out of curiosity, are you running stock gears? With that cam profile in a stroker you really shouldn’t have very much surge at all. My **** with a XFI292 chugs right along at just over 1000 rpm. It was also dyno tuned.

Some things that could affect drive ability when hotroding your engine:

Rear gearing
Air fuel ratio
- this is set by carb adjustment or a tune for electronic fuel injection
Torque converter stall speed
Spark Advance
-this is set by distributor adjustments and tuning
Fuel delivery
- pump, injector sizing, things like clogged fuel filter or too small of a line diameter or some kind of obstruction

Spoke toy tuner today he thinks I'm running to cold of a plug as I went down 2 steps for spray. So I'm going to try a stock heat range and see what happens. If not he also said it's not cam surge at that RPMs. So sounds like I have another issue to track down if it's not the plugs.... ugh

Are you sending data logs to your tuner?

There is. If interested I can provide you with a link of someone who tunes OBD2 LT1's and will ship you the cable and software to remote log and tune your car. Just message me if interested and you can reach out to him directly for details. I'm not saying the problem is in the tune, but with the mods you have done you may want some visibility into what its doing.
