Torque arm really doesn't help in cornering. There's nothing bracing it for lateral motion. It's more for keeping the rear stable during forward motion as well as the lower control arms. Relocation brackets lower the angle of the LCA's to better suit lowered cars to also help keep the rear in place during forward motion. Sway bar and Panhard rod are what you're looking for to help keep the axles square with the body during hard cornering. Spohn or BMR have everything you need.

They do help with getting the power down though. I'm stuck with stock, so have never researched which arms do what.

Yes it does, you don't know what you're talking about. Torque arm effects braking and acceleration, both part of the cornering sequence. It's design has parameters that effect chassis dynamics and grip.

^^^
If you are looking for the entire experience of attack throughout a corner than just controlling body roll, get yourself a tubular torque arm with a poly bushing trans mount (or go one step further with a relocation bracket to keep the T/A off the trans) if you want to go with a transmission mount. Chassis mount is the best, but you will experience more vibration due to solid mount to the chassis and rod ends to the differential. BMR and Spohn are your best bets.

Thx for the info. I have LCAs, panhard, shocks, and looks like torque arm will be next. Looking into a BMR TAO12H Torque arm with relocation bracket.
Also have C5 wheels with sticky tires that rub
Don't want to use spacers to make the offset right though...too chicken

Don't be. I run ARP studs with slip on spacers and C5 Z06 wheels. My car is road race only and we all do it and nobody has a problem. You need strong extended studs though.

See Sam Strano's post(#10)....
https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/aut...rth-not-43313/

Given that info, I would not bother changing it for cornering. Go for shocks, LCA, PHB, bushings....

Now if we are talking drag racing....I think there are some real benefits to changing the pinion angle from stock with an adjustable TA. If I recall properly, there is a certain angle that can really help the bite on launch.

The Unbalanced Engeneering Torque Arm has been argued as the best design. I don't think it's still being made.
